Entrepreneurs face tremendous pressure to succeed from the moment they found their businesses through exit. They assume significant risk in typically uncharted waters, pursuing both a solution to one or more problems, as well as outsized returns. This experience is unique in the demands it places on its intrepid participants. However, the community of founders is large enough today that no individual founder need go through it alone.
Consero’s 2017 Startup Founder Report reflects the participation of 78 entrepreneurs—founders, CEOs, and presidents—who responded to an online survey in March 2017. The questionnaire was designed to gain a deeper understanding of entrepreneurs, including what drives them to start a business, their greatest entrepreneurial challenges, and what lies ahead for them. The data provides useful insight to help inform today’s budding entrepreneurs of what to expect when they embark on the wild startup journey.
