Reducing legal spend is the top priority in 2017 for at least two-thirds of corporate litigation chiefs polled in a recent survey.
That concern was followed by handling data privacy and security issues (46 percent), and managing labor and employment matters (43 percent), according to the 2017 Corporate Litigation Report from legal event organizer Consero Group.
Consero compiled the report, which was based on interviews of 52 litigation chiefs at large and midsized companies who attended recent Consero events, in partnership with Inventus, a discovery management provider.
Major concern over legal spend “is certainly true among my colleagues,” agrees Marcus Ryan, global litigation director at ERM Worldwide Group, which provides environmental, health, safety, risk, and social consulting services.
