Authentic, Effective, and Accountable Leadership: What Does It Take?

Authentic, Effective, and Accountable Leadership: What Does It Take?

The need for effective corporate leadership has never been more important. Yet, the skills necessary for authentic, effective, and accountable leadership are poorly understood, and all too often absent in corporate America. This gap leaves many of today’s most senior executives unprepared for their roles, and insufficiently suited to lead their employees and organizations through increasingly uncertain and complex situations. As a result, individual and organizational failure of varying degrees of magnitude has become all too common.

Consero’s Leadership Development Institute focuses on answering the central question:

What does it really take to be an effective and accountable C–Suite executive?

Through a carefully curated series of both virtual modules and in-person seminars – reflecting a combination of learnings from experts and current C-Suite leaders, along with facilitated self-reflection – participants will leave the program with a comprehensive understanding of what it truly takes to be an effective leader in today’s competitive environment. The modules are organized to reflect the important progression of focus from internal to external, beginning with self awareness and self reflection. The course then progresses to the attributes of leaders who demonstrate excellence in leading teams, emphasizing the importance of strategic thinking as a core element of leadership, regardless of role. The program concludes with a powerful discussion of a topic that many leaders neglect – leading with empathy and compassion, and the essential element of true human connection. This learning experience is designed to be interactive, supportive, and scenario-based. Participants will have reading assignments, but the “in class” experience will be interactive and designed to facilitate the practical application of principles gleaned from both the readings and the real-life experiences of the diverse and distinguished faculty. Participation in this program is one of the most important investments you can make in your leadership journey. And as with any investment in self improvement, you will get out of this program what you put into it.

The goal of the course is to develop leaders who:

  • Understand that self awareness, the ability to articulate one’s strengths and opportunities, and the willingness to accept feedback, are essential elements of strong leadership
  • Internalize the importance of personal character, courage, execution and accountability, and the inevitable intersection of each of these with organizational culture
  • Create inclusive, resilient, and psychologically safe teams through listening, humble inquiry, and servant leadership
  • Lead organizational change through effective communication, crisis management, and critical strategic thinking
  • Navigate corporate politics exercise effective use of authority

This program is designed for leaders and aspiring leaders. No matter where you are in your leadership journey, this leadership institute will make you a better executive and person.

“A true leader has the confidence to stand alone, the courage to make tough decisions, and the compassion to listen to the needs of others. He does not set out to be a leader, but becomes one by the equality of his actions and the integrity of his intent.”
