Consero is honored to announce that Tom Amburgey will be joining the Forum faculty for Consero's Government IT Forum 2012.
Tom Amburgey is Chief Information Officer for the City of Wellington in Wellington, Florida. Wellington is an affluent and growing suburb in western Palm Beach County, on Florida’s beautiful East Coast. The City covers over 40 square miles and serves over 57,000 residents in a multifaceted and diverse governmental operation.
Most recently, Mr. Amburgey was responsible for the interior build-out of and relocation to Wellington’s new 55,000 square foot City Hall. The building is home to all of the City’s administrative staff and is a Gold Certified LEED building. As CIO, Mr. Amburgey is a member of the management team and is responsible for all technology and communication services, including hardware and software infrastructure, telecommunications, internal and external web services and portals, a public broadcasting channel, and much more. Previously, Mr. Amburgey oversaw the installation of a citywide broadband wireless mesh network. The project, which included multiple phases and implementation groups, showed an initial return of almost 300%.
Mr. Amburgey was named one of Computerworld’s 2011 Premier 100 IT Leaders and has spoken on various technology topics at conferences all around the world. Mr. Amburgey received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Palm Beach Atlantic University.
