Consero is honored to announce that Todd Emerson has joined the Forum faculty for Consero's Corporate Counsel Forum 2012.
For the past eight years, Todd Emerson has served as SkyWest Airlines’ Director of Government and Legal Affairs. During this time, SkyWest has more than tripled in size and acquired Atlantic Southeast Airlines and Express Jet, making it the world’s largest regional airline.
As the top legal executive at SkyWest, Mr. Emerson has overseen the defense of the largest lawsuits in SkyWest’s history. His team has defeated three wage & hour class action lawsuits. These cases set precedents and are now widely cited by companies that are defending similar claims. He has also played a key role in keeping SkyWest union free, advising the airline on its rights to combat organizing efforts and shaping campaigns that defeated two union drives. On the regulatory front, Mr. Emerson represents SkyWest in investigations and enforcement actions from various federal agencies, including the FAA, TSA, DOT, OFCCP, OSHA, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Mr. Emerson is a graduate of Brigham Young University and earned his law degree from the George Washington University Law School. Mr. Emerson and his wife, Dianne, live in St. George, Utah, with their five children.
