Consero is honored to announce that Robert I. Newton has joined the Forum faculty for Consero's Corporate Counsel Forum 2012.
Robert I. Newton has 21 years of experience as a corporate lawyer, serving for the past seven years as the Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of PC Mall, Inc., a $1.5 Billion NASDAQ Global Market-traded, value-added provider of technology products, services, and solutions to all customer segments of the IT market. PC Mall operates through more than ten subsidiaries in the U.S. and various international jurisdictions. In his current role, Mr. Newton oversees PC Mall’s centralized legal, human resources, risk management, and corporate governance functions, and serves as a member of the company’s executive committee. Mr. Newton also plays a leading role for PC Mall in structuring, negotiating, and executing mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, capital market, financing, and real estate transactions.
Prior to joining PC Mall, Mr. Newton held partner, of counsel, and associate positions with a number of large international law firms in their respective corporate, securities, mergers and acquisitions, and finance groups in New York and Southern California.
Mr. Newton received his Juris Doctor with honors from the University of Texas at Austin School of Law and his B.B.A. in Finance with highest honors from the University of Texas at Austin. The Los Angeles Business Journal recently recognized Mr. Newton as the 2011 Corporate Counsel of the year for publicly traded companies with $2 Billion or less in annual revenues. Mr. Newton currently resides in San Clemente, California, with his wife and two children.
