Consero is honored to announce that Nicholas Sladic will be joining the faculty for Consero's Corporate Litigation Forum 2012.
Nicholas “Mick” Sladic is Vice President, Senior Associate General Counsel, in the Litigation Group at Capital One Financial Corporation. Mr. Sladic manages and leads a team of litigation attorneys and professionals responsible for management of various consumer finance and commercial litigation matters within credit card, mortgage, banking, auto lending, and intellectual property for the diversified family of Capital One holdings. Mr. Sladic’s team also has responsibility for management of the eDiscovery and subpoena fulfillment groups within Capital One. Mr. Sladic also is charged with leading the Legal Department’s Diversity Council.
In the course of Mr. Sladic’s tenure at Capital One, he also has experience in the consumer regulatory area, specifically with a focus on the following statutory regimes: Truth in Lending Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Bankruptcy Act, and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Prior to joining Capital One in 2000, Mr. Sladic practiced in the areas of commercial litigation, products liability, and employment law with the law firm McGuire Woods in Richmond, Virginia, representing a wide range of corporate clients on a diverse array of litigation matters. He received his Bachelor of Science in Economics and Psychology, cum laude, from Allegheny College in 1988, his Master of Business Administration in Finance, cum laude, from the University of Pittsburgh Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business in 1989, and his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Tulane University Law School in 1995, serving as a Moot Coot Trial Team member and managing editor of the Tulane Sports Law Journal. He is licensed to practice law in Virginia and Pennsylvania.
Mr. Sladic resides in Richmond, Virginia with his wife, Allyson, and two children Benjamin and Sophia. Mr. Sladic is a very active member of the Richmond community, serving as a member of the Board of Directors of the Tuckahoe YMCA and actively supporting the autism community, where he is a co-founder and governing director of the Capital One Autism Spectrum Connection.
