Consero is honored to announce that Michael Miller has joined the Forum faculty for Consero's European Corporate Counsel Forum 2012.
Michael Miller is the Global Head of Legal and Compliance for ING Direct, the direct banking division of the Dutch financial conglomerate, ING Group, headquartered in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. In this role, he serves as Global General Counsel and the Chief Compliance Officer for the bank. He is responsible for managing the legal and regulatory affairs of ING Direct and advising management on global strategy development of the bank and the larger Group. As part of this role, he also leads and coordinates the compliance and legal functions in the ten countries in which ING Direct is present.
Spending the first years of his career with a law firm in Washington, D.C., then moved in-house to a telecommunications company in the same area and later joined ING Direct US’ operations. Outside of work, Mr. Miller serves on the Board of Directors and is Treasurer for the National Network to End Domestic Violence, a charitable organization based in Washington, DC. Mr. Miller is a frequent guest speaker and panellist at various European forums on legal, compliance, ethics, and corporate social responsibility topics. He earned his Bachelor degree in Accounting and Finance from Marshall University, where he has also served on the Board of Governors. He has an M.B.A. from European University in Spain as well as a Juris Doctor from George Mason University. Mr. Miller is a member of the Virginia Sate Bar, American Bar Association, and Association of Corporate Counsel.
