Consero is honored to announce that Matthew O. Tanzer will be joining the Forum faculty for Consero's Corporate Compliance and Ethics Forum 2012.
Matthew O. Tanzer is Vice President and Chief Counsel – Compliance and Regulatory Affairs for Tyco International. As the company’s Senior Compliance Counsel, Mr. Tanzer is responsible for coordinating Tyco’s global compliance program and policies. He and his team work closely with senior management and Tyco’s businesses to promote a culture of ethics and integrity worldwide, as well as provide legal advice, counseling, education, and business support with regard to the myriad laws, regulations, policies, and procedures around the world.
Mr. Tanzer has extensive international experience, having worked on compliance and transactional issues in many countries, including Australia, Brazil, China, France, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Italy, Singapore, U.K., and others. Having started his career as an environmental lawyer, Mr. Tanzer also has substantial expertise in international environment, health, and safety regulatory requirements.
Prior to joining Tyco, Mr. Tanzer spent 12 years with General Electric Company in a variety of compliance roles, as well as several years in private practice.
Mr. Tanzer earned his law degree at Harvard Law School. He has a Master’s degree in Oceanography from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography and a Bachelor’s degree in Geology from Cornell University. Mr. Tanzer has previously been Chair of the American Bar Association’s In-House Counsel Committee (2006-2007), as well as Chair of the Air Quality Committee (2003 - 2005). Mr. Tanzer joined Tyco in 2004.
