Faculty: IRA LEVY (Howard County Government), Chief Performance Officer and Chief Information Officer

Consero is honored to announce that Ira Levy will be joining the Forum faculty for Consero's Government IT Forum 2012.

Mr. Levy is currently the Chief Performance Officer and Chief Information Officer for the Howard County Government, where he articulates an enterprise-wide vision of how county government technology initiatives should meet the needs of constituents. He was previously Managing Director of Finance and Administration and Chief Information Officer for the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington, where he was responsible for leading multiple organizations through a re-engineering process to integrate and streamline all technical systems and processes. Mr. Levy has led cost-saving initiatives in Howard County, which have resulted in $10 million in savings over the past 4 years. In 2009, Mr. Levy was named Smart CIO of the year by SmartCEO magazine.
 
Most recently, the leadership role Mr. Levy took in the State Wide One Maryland Broadband Plan has led to $115 million being granted to the State of Maryland, with $72 Million being directed specifically to Howard County to manage the fiber build out in all of Central Maryland.
 
Mr. Levy also serves as a board member on the Howard County Technology Council, National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (NATOA), CIO Advisory Council, Information Systems Steering Committee for the National Associations of Counties (NACO), and the Tech Advisory Committee for The Associated.
 
In addition to a Master's degree in Education from the University of Central Florida, Mr. Levy holds a Master's degree in Information & Telecommunication Systems and a Master's in Business Administration, both from Johns Hopkins University. He aslo holds several certifications, including a CISSP and a PMP.
