Consero is honored to announce that Charles T. Thompson has joined the Forum faculty for Consero's Government IT Forum 2012.
 
Charles T. Thompson serves the City of Houston as the Chief Information Officer, effective as of January 26, 2012. Mr. Thompson leads the Information Technology Department (ITD), where IT governance, enhanced service delivery, the building of relationships/partnerships, and operational efficiency drives the team’s efforts. 
 
Prior to Houston, Mr. Thompson served the City of Phoenix as the CIO from 2007-2012, Orange County (FL) Public Schools as the CIO from 2005-2007, and District of Columbia Public Schools as the CTO from 2002-2005. Before beginning his career in the public sector, he worked in the private sector as a systems engineer, consultant, and senior manager with IBM, NYNEX Business Systems, SynOptics, Bay Networks, and Cisco Systems.
 
Mr. Thompson earned a Master’s degree in Operational Analysis from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, in 1996, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems Management from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, in 1989. He has earned his CGEIT certification, ITILv3 Foundation, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, and Intermediate Service Operation Certifications. He has been certified by the Federal Council of CIOs, U.S. General Services Administration, and University of Maryland, University College.
