Faculty: CARINE JEAN-CLAUDE (Arrow Electronics, Inc.), Chief Compliance Officer and Vice President, Legal Affairs

Consero is honored to announce that Carine Jean-Claude will be joining the Forum faculty for Consero's Corporate Compliance and Ethics Forum 2012.

Carine Jean-Claude currently holds the title of Chief Compliance Officer and Vice President, Legal Affairs for Arrow Electronics, Inc. a Fortune 200 global distributor of electronic products, parts, and solutions. She joined Arrow in 2000 and is a strategic member of the business leadership team. In her role as Chief Compliance Officer, Ms. Jean-Claude is responsible for communicating and overseeing global standards and procedures to ensure that all of Arrow’s business around the world is conducted to the highest ethical standards and is in full compliance with legal regulations.  
 
Ms. Jean-Claude also oversees all matters related to employment law in North America and is the legal advisor to senior management on all employment-related issues. In this role, Ms. Jean-Claude is responsible for developing employee-related internal policies and procedures. She manages all employment-related litigation in the U.S. and has successfully dealt with many cutting-edge issues facing employers. 
 
During her tenure at Arrow, Ms. Jean-Claude has spearheaded the Diversity and Inclusion initiatives at Arrow. She has also designed and delivered numerous training programs for all levels of management.  
 
Prior to joining Arrow, Ms. Jean-Claude worked for Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver and Jacobson law firm in New York City. She counseled clients on a full spectrum of corporate legal services, including general contract negotiation, dispute resolution, commercial and environmental litigation, employment law, immigration, regulatory compliance, and policy formation. Ms. Jean Claude subsequently accepted a position with the law firm of Edwards & Angell. While there, she counseled senior management and represented client companies on numerous employment-law matters. While at both firms, Ms. Jean Claude engaged in community service through each firm's Pro-Bono Programs, by taking on pro-bono immigration and civil cases.  
 
Ms. Jean-Claude is the recipient of several distinguished awards, including being inducted into the YWCA-NY Academy of Women Achievers in 2004 and the 2005-2006 Madison Who’s Who awards. She holds a Juris Doctor from the Boston University School of Law, where she was the Article Editor for the Boston University Public Interest Law Journal. She also was an active participant in the Legal Aid Civil Clinic. Prior to law school, Ms. Jean-Claude attended the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University. She graduated with a Finance degree and was inducted in the Phi Alpha Kappa Finance Fraternity.
 
Born in Haiti, Ms. Jean-Claude and her family moved to Chad, Central Africa, and then to the U.S. She is active in the community, including her native country. Ms. Jean-Claude worked closely with the formation of Renal Care International, an organization founded by her sister, which provides dialysis equipment to Haiti. Additionally, she organized efforts within the Haitian Community to send well-needed basic essentials to Haiti.
 
She is married with three children, including twins, and resides in New Jersey.
